Phil Hawes is a two time competitor of Dana White’s Contender Series, and appeared once on The Ultimate Fighter as well. After being defeated by Julian Marquez on DWCS in 2017, he strung together a very impressive three fight winning streak, all finishes in order to be invited back to the Contender Series in 2020, looking for redemption.

Phil finished Khadzhimurat Bestaev in the first round, first dropping him with an overhand right, before finishing him with ground n pound in just 78 seconds. Thanks to this stellar performance, Hawes received a UFC contract and fought a little over a month later at UFC 254. In his UFC debut ‘Megatron’ was able to use his impressive strikes to finish Jacob Malkoun in just 18 seconds.
