Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira (29-8 MMA, 17-8, 1 NC UFC)

Featherweight (145lbs): 11-6 (UFC), Missed weight 3 times

Lightweight (155lbs): 8-2 (UFC)

The last time that Charles Oliveira missed weight was in November of 2016 ahead of his fight with Ricardo Lamas. Oliveira weighed in for the bout at a full 9lbs over the featherweight limit. The bout was moved to a 155lb catchweight, and Oliveira lost in the end. After two previous misses at the scales, that loss in culmination with the drastic weight cut were enough to get the Brazilian to move up a weight class.

Olivera had previously missed weight in the UFC at 145lbs just one year prior when he came in heavy against Myles Jury. And also a year before that, as he was half a pound over for his 2014 fight against Jeremy Stephens.

However, since moving up to the lightweight divison in 2016 Oliveria has never missed weight again. Charles is on a seven fight win streak, all of them coming them coming by way of stoppage and has looked truly unstoppable. Oliveira took the fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 256 on about three weeks notice. Because of this, to the surprise of many, Ferguson has stated through an Instagram post that if Olivera misses weight by more than “3 or 4 pounds” then he will not be competing against him. Olivera responded to the comments by telling reporters including Cageside Press that:

“Tony needs to worry about his own weight, it’s up to me what I do with my team.”
