Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC)

Welterweight (170lbs): 2-0 (MMA), Making UFC Debut on July 25th

Middleweight (185lbs): 1-0 (UFC), 3-0 (MMA)

Khamzat Chimaev just made his UFC debut on July 15, when he dominated John Philips before finishing him in the second round by D’Arce Choke. This bout took place in the middleweight division and after the win, Chimaev was adamant about wanting to be thrown right back in the mix and receive another fight on fight island. Well, Khamzat is getting his wish, but it is going to be in the welterweight division.

Khamzat stands at 6’2″ and posses a 75″ reach. Having just turned 26 years old a couple of months ago, Chimaev’s body can still make dramatic weight cuts in a short time period such as this, with the proper diet and training. Khamzat’s last fight at 170lbs was the fight just prior to when he entered the UFC back in October of last year. So Khamzat definitely has experience at this weight, it’s just the insane turn around time in only his second UFC fight that presumably has fans buzzing.
