Two UFC veterans and fan faves will collide at BKFC 94 in Manchester, England later this year.
During The Ariel Helwani Show on Monday, BKFC President David Feldman announced the pair’s impending bareknuckle clash, set for September 26 at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.
Till, a former welterweight title challenger in the UFC, has dabbled in boxing since parting ways with the promotion. Earlier this year, he defeated Aaron Chalmers in his BKFC debut.
At 33, Darren Till is a veritable spring chicken in comparison to 49-year old Yoel Romero. A former title challenger himself in the UFC (at middleweight), the “Solider of God” has taken part in multiple combat sports disciplines since leaving the UFC in 2020. He worked his way to a title shot in Bellator, and currently sits on a two-fight win streak in MMA including a bareknuckle MMA win over Alex Nicholson earlier this year.
Romero is 1-1 in bareknuckle, 2-0 in Dirty Boxing, and was to have competed at Polaris in submission grappling in 2024, only to withdraw from a match with Owen Livesey.
The Cuban wrestler holds victories over Luke Rockhold, Thiago Santos, Melvin Manhoef, Chris Weidman, Jacare Souza, Lyoto Machida, and Derek Brunson among others in an MMA run that saw him fight both Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya for the UFC’s middleweight title.
