It looks like Paul Felder has made the trip to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, and he plans to make up for lost time. Felder, who missed out on his UFC 251 commentating gig because of a COVID-19 scare, will be pulling double duty: not only as commentator for UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Ige, but will also step in as corner man to Jared “Flash” Gordon.

With his coach and team unfortunately testing positive for COVID-19 and not being able to make the trip to the UFC’s second fight card on Fight Island, Jared was not going to go into battle alone when Felder took to his personal Instagram and discussed in detail about stepping in as Gordon’s corner man and the reasons why he missed commentating at UFC 251.

Putting his commentator duties on hold for the Jared Gordon vs. Chris Fishgold fight just goes to show you who Paul Felder is as a person. When a friend is in need, he is right there to assist and give them everything he possibly can in pursuit of their dreams.

It will be nice to see the highly respected Felder back inside the Octagon, even if it is in the role as corner man. We haven’t seen Felder in action since his retirement announcement after a split decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night 168.

It’s pretty cool to see such a well-respected Felder build up an already amazing resume. What a triple threat – fighter, commentator and short-notice corner man!

We wish the teammates and coaches of Jared Gordon a speedy recovery as they take on their own fight with COVID-19.
