Jinh Yu Frey is not only making her UFC debut at UFC on ESPN 12, but is also making her professional MMA debut in the strawweight division. Jinh Yu Frey is a veteran of Invicta FC as well as Rizin but has never fought above 110lbs in professional mma. Frey stands at 5’3″ tall and has a 65″ reach. Frey was one of the top five female atomweights in the world, but must now move weight classes as the UFC doesn’t have atomweights.
Frey turned 35 years old last month. Frey’s opponent for UFC on ESPN 12 is actually one 20-year-old Kay Hansen who is also 5’3″ but has had multiple fights in the flyweight division already. Frey will definitely be giving up a little size and some age so it should be interesting to see her debut in the UFC.
