Women’s flyweight Melissa Gatto is out of her UFC debut once again.

Brazil’s Gatto (6-0-2), who has had a depressing three straight fights cancelled dating back to December 2018, has been forced off the UFC’s June 13 card, Cageside Press has learned.

Gatto had been expected to face Mariya Agapova at the event.

Last year, Gatto was expected to make her premiere inside the octagon against Talita Bernardo at UFC 237. After an injury scrapped that fight, she was booked for UFC 239, against Julia Avila. Again, she was forced to withdraw due to injury.

The third time will apparently not be the charm, however. Agapova was expected to feature on next Saturday’s Fight Night event, airing on ESPN+. Instead, the promotion is reportedly seeking a replacement for Gatto. The UFC did not respond to a request for comment regarding the withdrawal. The reason Gatto pulled out of the card is unknown currently.

Gatto’s last victory, and fight period, came in 2018, when the undefeated fighter got the better of current UFC roster member Karol Rosa.

Should an replacement be found, Agapov (8-1) will be making her own debut. The Invicta FC veteran has won her last two fights, against Marilia Santos and Alexa Conners.

The UFC’s June 13 card, expected to take place at its Apex facility in Las Vegas, is headlined by Cynthia Calvillo vs. Jessica Eye in a key flyweight match-up.
