Combate Americas has announced a new main event between Alejandro Martinez and Adrian Guzman, as well as several new bouts for their event in Fresno on February 28.
Combate Americas has announced a shake-up for their event in Fresno on February 28 at the Save Mart Center. Lightweight Alejandro “El Pato” Martinez (4-4) will replace Pablo Sabori in the main event against Adrian Guzman. Martinez has fought primarily in Combate Americas and Brave and his biggest fight to date was against former title challenger Erick “Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez last March.
Lightweight prospect Adrian Guzman (6-1) is currently 3-1 under the Combate Americas banner and goes into the event on a two fight win-streak. Training out of Team Oyama, this will be Guzman’s fourth fight in the promotion at the Save Mart Center in Fresno. Notably, Guzman has won all of his fights at the venue.
Also announced was a fight between Stephanie “Macaquinha” Frausto (7-6) and Charisa Sigala (4-1) as the new co-main event on the card. Interestingly, Frausto’s fight replaces that of her older sister Zoila Frausto who was set to face Karla Benitez. Per a press release, the bout between Zoila Frausto and Benitez is now cancelled due to Benitez not being eligible to compete at the event.
29 year old Stephanie Frausto enters the bout on a two fight win-streak and has experience fighting in promotions such as Bellator, Invicta, and King of the Cage. Her last fight was in November, also at Fresno’s Save Mart Center, where she scored a second round TKO over Celine Haga.
Charisa Sigala built up her career through Gladiator Challenge before signing with Combate Americas. She made her promotional debut last May where she dropped a unanimous decision to Irene Cabello Rivera.
