10 Lightweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2020

Nikolas “Iron” Motta

 26 | 5’9″ | Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil | 11-3 | 8 Finishes | 8 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 50-37 | Best Win – Cesar Balmaceda (6-1)

In 2015, Nikolas Motta competed on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil Season 4 and lost to the eventual winner, Glaico França. Since then, Motta is 5-2 with both losses to good fighters. Motta has a win over current UFC fighter Joe Solecki. Also, a win over Cesar Balmaceda who was on our list last year. From Brazil, he lives in the states and is the current CFFC lightweight champion.

Motta is primarily a striker with a lot of power in his hands. At times, he can just throw single shots but when he opens up he’s extremely dangerous. He’s very effective once he presses volume mixing up strikes and kicks. Motta is someone that could benefit from more experience and maybe going through the Contender Series is the right move.
