10 Middleweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2020

Alex “Poatan” Pereira

32 | 6’4″ | Sao Paulo, Brazil | 2-1 | 18 Finishes | 2 KO/TKOs | Combined Opponents’ Record: 14-7 | Best Win – Marcus Vinicius (6-0)

Alex Pereira is a bit of a wild card pick here as it’s been nearly four years since he had an MMA fight. He’s a decorated kickboxer as he’s one of the best in the world today. His kickboxing record is 41-6 with 30 KO/TKOs. Some of his accomplishments including becoming the Glory Middleweight Champion, WGP Kickboxing Champion, and the WAKO World Champion. Pereira is best known to the MMA community for beating UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya twice (once by knockout).

The UFC is already interested in Pereira offering him a contract on the Contender Series Brazil. He had to turn it down due to his Glory contract. He plans to pursue MMA and the UFC will no doubt go after him. In no way should Pereira go directly to the UFC however. A few good wins early in the year should allow him to really earn his way.
