Invicta FC 35 went down live from Kansas City, Kansas on Friday, bringing a flyweight number one contender’s match, and the ongoing second chapter of Kaitlin Young.
Invicta FC returned Friday night, with Invicta FC 35: Bennett vs. Rodriguez 2, airing live on UFC Fight Pass. No title fights on the card, but a women’s title eliminator topped the bill. That saw DeAnna Bennett, an Ultimate Fighter alum, take on Karina Rodriguez for the second time.
Their first meeting came just over a year ago, at Invicta FC 28 in March of 2018. Bennett took home a split decision win that night. She’d went 1-1 after that, while Rodriguez had won her lone fight since.
The co-main event of the evening saw Alesha Zappitella take on Viviane Pereira. Originally scheduled as an atomweight contest, Pereira missed weight, and was forced to turn over 25% of her purse. As were two other fighters on the card: Faith McMah, who blew the featherweight limit, and Kelly D’Angelo, who also missed at atomweight.
