Darren Till took home a razor thin decision at UFC Fight Night 130 in Liverpool, unanimous or not. What did the pros think of the outcome?

It wasn’t the stand-up war many had hoped for. Instead, Darren Till vs. Stephen Thompson was a chess match. It played out over five rounds in the main event of UFC Liverpool on Sunday, and ultimately, it was Till who came out on top.

You could easily argue that the fight should have gone the other way. Michael Chiesa did just that on the UFC Liverpool post-fight show on Fox Sports 1. Former middleweight champion Michael Bisping, a native of England, simply acknowledged that he was thankful not to be in the judge’s shoes.

In the end, the win keeps Darren Till’s perfect record intact. And it will set him up for another challenge in the welterweight division. With the title picture muddied thanks to a frankly unnecessary interim title fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington at UFC 225 next month, and champ Tyron Woodley set to return as soon as August, Till won’t be getting to the gold any time soon. Still, a big fight is a necessity at this point. His weight, however, will have to be addressed. The Liverpool native has now missed weight twice in a year, and is an incredibly large welterweight.
