An injury has forced a major shake-up to the Invicta FC 25 card later this month in California. Jodie Esquibel, who had been set to face Livia Renata Souza for the promotion’s vacant strawweight championship, has been forced off the card after being hurt in training. As a result, undefeated Janaisa “Evil Princess” Morandin will step in on short notice. The fight will no longer be for the title, but instead a three round non-title bout. Invicta FC announced the change in a press release today.

Souza (10-1) most recently bested former atomweight champ Ayaka Hamasaki, via first-round knockout at Invicta FC 22. Morandin (9-0), meanwhile, has been competing at atomweight. The Souza bout will mark her Invicta FC debut, however “Evil Princess” has competed at strawweight in the past.

In another late change, Amberlynn Orr (0-1) has also been paired up with a new opponent for Invicta FC 25, as  Sarah “Chucky” Kleczka (0-0) will replace Kelly McGill. No reason was given for the substitution.

Invicta FC 25 takes place at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in California on August 31. The updated fight card is as follows:

Raquel Pa’aluhi vs. Yana Kunitskaya – for the Invicta FC bantamweight title
Livia Renata Souza vs. Janaisa Morandin
Alexa Conners vs. Katharina Lehner
Sharon Jacobson vs. Kali Robbins
Shino VanHoose vs. Alyse Anderson
Amberlynn Orr vs. Sarah Kleczka
Yaya Rincón vs. Stephanie Egger
Cheri Muraski vs. Tracy Cortez
Ashley Medina vs. Jillian DeCoursey
