Nikolas Motta Ready To Fight In Enemy Territory

For UFC lightweight Nikolas Motta it’s all respect between him and his opponent Nazim Sadykhov when they enter the octagon this Saturday at UFC Baku.

“I feel flattered he said that. That means he respects me as a hard opponent and he knows I’m a very tough fighter,” Motta told reporters on Wednesday.

“He respects me as a fighter, and I also respect him as a fighter. He’s also a great fighter. Like they say styles makes fights and that’s why the UFC and the matchmaker matched us. He knows that this fight is going to be, like they say in America it’s going to be a banger.”

Motta (15-5) hopes to extend his win streak to three with a win over Sadykhov at UFC Baku. He’ll have a tough task fighting him in his home country of Azerbaijan.

“Always I would be fighting at my opponent’s hometowns. It’s funny that when I became, because Nazim he grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and most of my career in the United States was in New Jersey. We had that same area,” he said.

“I’m ready to fight the whole three rounds,” he said.

“I have great coach, great teammates, and I’m ready to fight four or five rounds if I need.”
