PFL Wichita: Elora Dana Feels Fight with Ditcheva “Brewing,” But “Can’t Really Plan Much”

Elora Dana feels her spot in the PFL World Tournament semifinals is a “dream come true,” as she looks to further her star power in a fight with Bellator women’s flyweight champ Liz Carmouche at PFL Wichita this Friday.

Brazil’s Dana is a former Jungle Fights champ, undefeated at 8-0 as a pro, and the comparisons are already being made to Dakota Ditcheva, the promotion’s current women’s flyweight champ. There’s also talk of a fight between the pair, should Dana go all the way in the World Tournament.

“I feel like this is a fight that’s brewing, but that said, in this world and this industry, you can’t really plan much,” noted Dana during this week’s PFL Wichita media day. “Things just happen, and every fight’s a different fight. If it happens, I’ll be ready and I’ll be in great shape, and I plan on it, but like I said, every fight’s a different one.”

Against Carmouche, Dana predicted that “fans can expect an absolute spectacle. It will be a great fight, I’m going to give it my all as I always have and always will.”

Carmouche has just one loss in years, to Taila Santos, who went to last year’s PFL season finale. The first woman to step inside the UFC octagon, the UFC vet challenged for gold twice in that promotion. A win over her would certainly see Dana’s star skyrocket.

Being able to compete in the PFL, in the $500,000 World Tournament, gives Dana a chance “to change my life, and provide for myself and my family, and change what I’m able to do,” she later added. “I come from very humble beginnings, and just always dreamed of doing bigger things and making an impact. And I feel like I truly have an opportunity to do so now.”
