The full PFL Cape Town card has been announced, and RIZIN lightweight Takeshi Izumi will be among those taking part.
Izumi (6-3) will take on Artur Zaynukov (16-4) at the event, set for the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa on July 19, 2025.
Promotion officials recently announced the booking.
The show is part of the PFL Champions Series, and marks their debut in the South African market. Bellator (and now PFL Champions Series) middleweight champ Johnny Eblen headlines.
Takeshi Izumi is 1-1 under the RIZIN banner and has also competed for DEEP. He’s coming off a big win over UFC alum Spike Carlyle at RIZIN 50 earlier this year. The Japanese star was a gold medal winner in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Asian Championships in 2017.
As for Russia’s Zaynukov, he’s 1-0 under the PFL banner and enters on a five-fight win streak.
