Welterweights Ramiz Brahimaj and Billy Ray Goff faced off in main card action at UFC Vegas 107
Brahimaj took Goff to the cage early, and took the back, dragging his opponent down. Brahimaj got to the back, mounting it, with Goff actually powering to his feet carrying his opponent’s weight. That staved off a choke, but looked exhausting— though ultimately it was effective. Brahimaj slipped off, Goff turned in to face him, and just like that the fight was back on the feet, Billy Ray Goff out of danger.
The violent submission finish came moments later. Brahimaj trapped the neck after Goff clinched up, and locked up first a ninja choke, then a guillotine. Brahimaj absolutely cranked on it, and as Goff tried to twist out, he went out! Brahimaj released the hold before the ref even moved in; Goff hit the canvass, completely out of it. An incredibly impressive win and a very sudden, nasty submission by Ramiz Brahimaj.
After the fight, Brahimaj went to the cage by the broadcast booth and credited Daniel Cormier for turning things around for him, giving him confidence to fight on during a rough patch. He also shouted out UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby in his post-fight interview.
That’s two straight finishes for Brahimaj, who is riding high after a stellar performance.
Official Result: Ramiz Brahimaj def. Billy Ray Goff by submission (standing guillotine choke), Round 1, 3:16
