UFC middleweight Zach Reese took his talents to Las Vegas in preparation for his bout with Dusko Todorovic at UFC Vegas 107 on Saturday night.
“For this camp I switched it up. Went out to Xtreme Couture about a month-and-a-half ago. Been getting a lot of training with the guys over there,” Reese told reporters on Wednesday.
“Been super grateful for that and I feel like I’ve really leveled up. I’m in great shape, I’m healthy, and ready to go.”
Reese (8-2) got connected with the XC guys through meeting Chris Curtis in Thailand. The relationship opened the door to go in and train with guys like Curtis and Sean Strickland. Strickland rubs some the wrong way, but nobody doubts his value as a teammate.
“I would say he’s the best training partner I’ve ever had. He tries to make you better every day. He holds the room to a real high standard, and there’s a ton of energy in the room. Fight realistic training, and I love it. Super grateful for it,” he said.
“There were a couple guys there that had fought Dusko and beat him. We talked to them, talked to coach Eric (Nicksick). Getting rounds with Strickland, sparring with him, I’m ready for whatever comes Saturday.”
