Quebec’s own Charles Jourdain is missing out on UFC 315 in Montreal this weekend, but he now has a fight on the books.
Jourdain (16-8-1) will fight Ricky Simon (21-6) at UFC Atlanta on June 14, 2025, with the event taking place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
News of the booking was first reported by Eurosport’s Marcel Dorff, and confirmed by Simon on social media.
Neither man is currently ranked in the UFC’s bantamweight division, where the fight will be contested. Jourdain debuted in the weight class in his last fight, submitting Victor Henry with a guillotine at UFC Edmonton and adding a Performance of the Night bonus in the process. The win snapped a two fight skid back in his old weight class of 145lbs.
Simon himself saw a three-fight losing streak snapped in his last outing, when he knocked out hot prospect Javid Basharat.
UFC Atlanta is headlined by a welterweight fight between former champ Kamaru Usman and current contender Joaquin Buckley. The following match-ups have been reported for the event:
- Kamaru Usman vs. Joaquin Buckley
- Rose Namajunas vs. Miranda Maverick
- Michael Chiesa vs. Court McGee
- Mansur Abdul-Malik vs. Cody Brundage
- Tereza Bledá vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth
- Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Andre Petroski
- Cody Durden vs. Jose Ochoa
