The UFC returns to Kansas City, Missouri this Saturday with UFC Kansas City headlined by welterweights Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates.
Prates comes from the Fighting Nerds, one of the hottest fight camps in recent years, while Ireland’s Machado Garry has long been working his way up the 170lb division. While coming off a setback against Shavkat Rakhmonov, Garry should get some credit for taking that match-up on short notice after Belal Muhammad dropped out of UFC 310.
Also set for this Saturday’s UFC Kansas City card is the retirement fight of longtime UFC vet Anthony “Lionheart” Smith. Having gone all the way to a fight with Jon Jones for the UFC‘s light heavyweight title, Smith was wrapping up his career against China’s Zhang Mingyang.
