Philadelphia — Welterweight wins leader Neil Magny got the job done at UFC 330, finishing Ramiz Brahimaj by TKO with Magny’s own mom watching on from the stands.
Now, Magny has his eyes set on getting back to the welterweight rankings, where he had spent nearly an entire decade.
“For me at this point, I think a quick turnaround that gets me back in the rankings would be great,” Magny told media outlets including Cageside Press following the fight. “I was ranked in the UFC from 2014 to 2024. Last year, 2025 was the first year ever I wasn’t ranked in the UFC since being in there. So getting another shot to get back in the rankings would be great, and then reassess from there.”
Magny isn’t just the UFC’s welterweight wins and fights leader, he’s now tied at second overall (with Charles Oliveira) for wins in the promotion. Directly ahead, Jim Miller. Magny has 25 wins and 38 fights in the UFC, to Miller’s 28 wins and 47 fights. “I think father time is working in my favor to catch up to Jim. The dude’s a beast, he could probably fight to 50 if he chooses to. But I think just from durability and timing, I think I might be able to catch that record eventually.”
There are just three people who have won 25 fights or more in the UFC, Oliveira, Miller, and Magny himself. That’s something Neil Magny admitted was “crazy to see it play out.”
“When I first started this journey 20 years ago, I never thought I’d be sitting in the position I’m in now. Now I’m setting records and all kinds of crazy stuff. Definitely grateful for it, and appreciate it all, but it’s insane. It’s shocking every single day. I’ll see a random stat on Instagram that I wasn’t even aware of, it’s like ‘huh that’s pretty cool.’ To get the opportunity to do this as long as possible, as often as possible, I’m just grateful for it all.”
