He might take some time off, but it doesn’t sound as if Israel Adesanya is done fighting just yet.

After looking good in the opening round of Saturday’s UFC Saudi Arabia main event, Adesanya (24-5) was knocked senseless by a Nassourdine Imavov right hand. The knockout loss was his third straight, and his first in a non-title fight under the UFC banner. That, after starting his career a perfect 20-0.

Well, all good things must come to an end (unless you’re Khabib Nurmagomedov, who escaped the sport of MMA undefeated). Adesanya has since posted on social media, saying he “Rolled the dice… snake eyes,” before adding “I’ll be back, gone to get some milk.”

During the UFC Saudi Arabia post-fight show, “The Last Stylebender” reflected on the loss.

“Disappointed. I hate disappointing my fans and my team,” Israel Adesanya stated (h/t MMA Fighting), asked about the main event’s outcome. “My team’s still proud of me for the work that I put into this. It’s just the thrill and agony.”

He’d go on to add that “Only a privileged few will ever get to this point and understand. To be able to feel something so great but also able to feel something so deep and so [frustrating]. It’s a f*cking lovely game, but it’s a stupid game at the same time.”
