Los Angeles – UFC light heavyweight Jiri Prochazka comes into UFC 311 against Jamahal Hill wondering if his opponent is fully focused on their fight this Saturday night.
Hill seems to have been almost obsessing over his loss to champion Alex Pereira even when he has Prochazka ahead of him at UFC 311.
“I will just say that it’s a big mistake when you are not focused (on) what’s right before you,” Prochazka told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.
“You’re looking for (at) another opponent it will cost you a lot. It’s just about (staying) humble, staying focused on what’s before you. I don’t speak about other opponents, about who will be next, even that I said I want to fight Alex Pereira a third time.”
Prochazka (30-5-1) is coming off a loss to Pereira in the rematch. He’s also been speaking out about wanting another shot at Pereira, but not to the detriment of his preparation for Hill.
Still he believes he could best Pereira in a trilogy match up.
“I believe in myself. I believe in my style, in my changes of my style, changes (in) my personal lifestyle. Everything,” he said.
“No this is not the place (to be speaking about that) now. There is Jamahal Hill this Saturday. I want to win, and I’m going to win this fight. Then we can talk about others.”
