Manon Fiorot Looks For A Title Shot With Win Over Blanchfield

Atlantic City – A title shot is on the line according to UFC flyweight Manon Fiorot who looks to cash in on a possible fight for gold, but she’ll have to get past Erin Blanchfield at UFC Atlantic City on Saturday night first.

“I already deserved two times the title shot. Of course I know and I believe that the next fight will be the title,” Fiorot told reporters including Cageside Press through a translator on Wednesday.

“I know that they have to make the trilogy before. I will wait, no problem, but the next one is the title.”

The trilogy she speaks of is of course UFC flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and former champ Valentina Shevchenko. Grasso took the first bout, but the rematch ended in a draw. With both fighters coaching the next season of TUF it’s assumed they will fight a third time.

“I think it will be as usual a very tight and strong fight. That (the winner) doesn’t matter to me. I will fight both of them,” she said.

At UFC Atlantic City she faces Blanchfield who has made her own case for a title shot. Blanchfield comes into the fight on a 6-fight UFC win streak.

“To be honest it’s not the roughest (or) the hardest fight for me in my MMA career. She did not have the same kind of opponents that I’ve had. I had very rough opponents these three last ones,” Fiorot said.

“I’ve beaten a champ Rose Namajunas who is an amazing fighter. I don’t think it will be the hardest (fight for me).”
