One of four featherweight showdowns on the UFC Vegas 89 card found Julian Erosa and Ricardo Ramos throwing down on Saturday.

It was a wild affair right out of the gate, with both men swinging, but it was Ramos who did damage early, connecting with a knee! Erosa appeared rocked; Brazil’s Ramos secured a takedown, dropping a bit of ground n’ pound, but at the same time affording “Juicy J” the opportunity to recover.

Erosa, however, didn’t stay down long. Ramos soon secured another takedown however, only for Erosa to lock up a guillotine! The choke didn’t seem to be the most secure, with Ramos’ head on the verge of popping out. But Erosa also had his full body weight on it as Ramos made the mistake of actually standing up, carrying his opponent’s bulk. That had Ramos quickly tapping, giving Julian Erosa an impressive comeback win!

Just eight days removed from the birth of his son, Julian Erosa shouted out his wife following the win. He admitted that he “really wanted to fight before my son was born,” but in hindsight, Saturday’s showing at UFC Vegas 89 might have worked out even better.

Erosa also noted that after seeing Charles Jourdain submit Ramos, he believed he could very much do the same.

Official Result: Julian Erosa def. Ricardo Ramos by submission (guillotine choke), Round 1, 2:15
