Aaron Pico vs Henry Corrales 2

Aaron Pico has been one of the best and most entertaining prospects in Bellator history and was formerly the top-ranked high school wrestler in all America. Although he has taken his lumps along the way with a handful of prospect losses, Pico’s blend of wrestling prowess and shocking athleticism has developed him into an MMA fighter who verges on world class, while always being in exciting fights. With some of the most devastating knockouts you will ever see, Pico has long been one to keep an eye on for fans of violence and is coming off of his biggest knockout victory to date over former title challenger Pedro Carvalho.

Yet Aaron is much more than a wrestler with an overhand. He decimates the body with his hands, has a solid submission arsenal on the mat, and throws his punches in fluid/diverse combinations which overwhelm foes. Most of the time that is enough, but his aggressiveness is such that he can be beaten by a hard-nosed, experienced foe like Henry Corrales, even when he has them hurt.

In fact, that is exactly what occurred in their first matchup back in 2019 when Corrales came back from being dropped to finish Pico with dirty boxing from a single collar-tie. That position has been where Henry finds most of his knockouts since the days of King of the Cage, and the whole finish epitomizes his best aspects; he is a tough, savvy, relentless veteran brawler who loves to fight on the inside and work the body. Corrales is also well-rounded, possessing a nearly even spread of submissions, knockouts, and finishes on his resume. Though Henry is 37, he was on a three-fight winning streak last year which only ended due to split decision at the hands of former UFC fighter Kai Kamaka III, so he clearly still has gas in the tank and will not lie down and quit against an Aaron Pico who is ten years his junior.
