UFC 297: Strickland vs. Du Plessis Weigh-In Photo and Video Highlights

UFC 297 in Toronto is official.

Friday morning, the full roster of fighters competing on Saturday’s PPV card at the ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto hit the scales, with a minimal amount of drama. Middleweight champ and controversy magnet Sean Strickland weighed in first, with challenger Dricus Du Plessis hitting the scales a short time later to make the main event official.

Mayra Bueno Silva and Raquel Pennington, throwing down to claim the vacant women’s bantamweight title, hit the scales second and third, respectively, and both made championship weight. That sealed the deal for the co-headliner, cementing both title bouts.

The biggest surprise on Friday morning was a change in weight for Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Priscila Cachoeira. The culprit behind the increase from flyweight to bantamweight was apparently weight management issues on the part of Brazil’s Cachoeira, and at least one Jasmine supporter in the room let her hear it— with Cachoeira’s team coming to her defense before the grumbling match petered out.

Consider Jasudavicius a gamer for agreeing to keep the fight intact, though there was little chance of her missing out on a fight at home.
