Diego Braga, Father Of Gabriel Braga, Killed In Brazil

Diego Braga, former MMA fighter and current coach of PFL’s Gabriel Braga, was killed in Rio de Janeiro on Monday.

MMA Fighting reported the passing, and PFL posted a message to their social media outlets.

 

Braga, 44, posted on social media on Monday morning that a his motorcycle had ben taken from his garage on Sunday night. Witnesses say Braga went to a favela to search for the motorcycle and was killed when he was mistaken for a rival militia member by members of the Comando Vermelho.

Diego Braga was a professional MMA fighter for 11 years fighting the likes of Charles Oliveira and Adriano Martins. In his later years he took up coaching as the head coach of Tropa Thai Team coaching his son Gabriel who is currently a part of the PFL. He was also part of MMA legend Anderson Silva’s team at the tail end of the middleweight’s career.

No official word has been released pertaining to any arrests as of this posting. His son Gabriel has not released a statement as of yet.

On Gabriel Braga’s Instagram he has a post dedicated to his father from March 2022.
