On a night overflowing with debuting fighters, Melquizael Costa entered the octagon for the first time, taking on Thiago Moises in a lightweight contest.

A dangerous first fight for any competitor, Costa had also taken the bout on short notice.

Almost a minute into the fight Moisés went for a single leg but Costa defended nicely. He then defended another takedown building up his confidence early in the fight. Moisés was still able to control him against the cage and eventually tripped Costa to the mat. Costa had some solid defense making it hard for Moisés to transition. Costa was able to get wrist control and work back to his feet. With not much time left to work Costa did land some shots. They both ended the round landing in an exchange with Moisés getting the best of it.

In round two, thirty seconds in Moisés got a takedown. Costa bounced right back up and was landing a slew of kicks on the outside. Another takedown came from Moisés as it was coming easier over the fight. Moises landed a couple of nice elbows causing some blood on the side of the head on Costa. More ground and pound from Moisés came making it difficult for Costa. Costa got to his feet but right back down and Moises took the back. Moisés locked in the rear-naked choke and even though it was on the chin, Costa still tapped.

Following his victory, Thiago Moises called out British star Paddy Pimblett for a future date.

Official Result: Thiago Moises def. Melquizael Costa by submission (rear-naked choke), Round 2, 4:05
