Teen sensation Raul Rosas Jr. has his next assignment set.

Rosas Jr. (7-0) will take on Christian Rodriguez (8-1) in a bantamweight match-up at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023. No location has been officially announced for the event, though Brooklyn, NY has been rumored.

Eurosport was first to report news of the match-up. Rodriguez also confirmed the booking on social media.

Raul Rosas Jr. made headlines when he appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series last year as a 17-year-old, and with a win, became the youngest fighter ever signed to the UFC. He debuted shortly after turning 18, making a strong impression with a dominant victory over Jay Perrin.

Undefeated through seven pro fights, “El Nino Problema” looks to be quite a problem for the bantamweight division.

Rodriguez, who has competed for Bellator MMA and LFA in the past, is 1-1 inside the octagon to date. In his most recent outing, he defeated Joshua Weems to pick up his first win in the promotion. Rodriguez’s only loss as a pro came against the highly touted “JSP” — Jonathan Pearce.

UFC 287 on April 8, 2023 does not currently have a main event announced. The following match-ups have been reported for the card:

  • Rob Font vs. Adrian Yanez
  • Cynthia Calvillo vs. Lupita Godinez
  • Michelle Waterson vs. Luana Pinheiro
  • Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Nikolas Motta
  • Raul Rosas Jr vs. Christian Rodriquez
