Years on from their first meeting, Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards were set to run it back atop the UFC 278 card in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Usman, of course, is the UFC’s reigning, defending welterweight champion, attempting to establish himself in a class of essentially two: himself, and welterweight great Georges St-Pierre.

For Edwards, well, he had taken the long road back to a fight with Usman, and to his first title shot. The Brit had won nine fights since his loss to Usman in 2015 (a tenth bout, against Belal Muhammad, ended in a No Contest due to an accidental eye poke).

Weigh-ins for UFC 278 take place Friday morning in Salt Lake City — results are below.

All fighters made weight Friday morning, though ahead of the official weigh-ins, Shanna Young was transported to hospital, and her fight with Miranda Maverick cancelled.
