The full card for ONE 160 next month has been announced, and ONE Championship has stacked two title fights atop the Singapore-based event.
Set to go down at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on August 26, 2022, the card will be headlined by a highly anticipated rematch between lightweight champion Ok Rae Yoon (16-3) and Christian Lee (15-4). In the co-main event, Thanh Le (13-2) will put his featherweight title on the line against Tang Kai (14-2).
Lee, ONE’s former lightweight champ and lightweight grand prix winner, has not fought since losing his title to South Korea’s Ok last September. Lee protested the decision after the fight, though he lost on all three scorecards.
For Ok, Lee’s loss was the culmination of an impressive run which saw him defeat not just the champ, but former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez, and former ONE champ Marat Gafurov. Overall, Ok has won five straight fights, and seven of his last eight.
Thanh Le may very well be the best fighter to win on Dana White’s Contender Series and not get signed, with apologies to Brendan Loughnane. Le, who also competed on The Ultimate Fighter Season 22, landed a head kick KO on the Contender Series, but was somehow overlooked. The UFC’s loss has been ONE Championship’s gain: Thanh Le sits on a five fight win streak currently, with finishes in all five fights.
Challenger Tang Kai, of China, hasn’t lost a fight since 2017 for his part, with nine straight wins.
