UFC Vegas 57: Christos Giagos Wishes He Made Move To Sandford MMA Sooner

Las Vegas, NV — Christos Giagos has lived in Florida for a year now, and he wishes he made the move sooner.

After living in California most of his professional career and then joining the legendary Black House squad in Los Angeles, Giagos made the move across the country to the sunshine state of Florida.

It wasn’t his idea. It was his wife’s choice.

“Actually, they offered my wife— her job asked if she wanted to move because they needed some people on the East Coast. She’s in medical device sales. And at first, I said no, because I never wanted to leave California,” Giagos said. “I just joined a new team out there, and I was coming off a big win, you know, I got the performance bonus. And I felt comfortable.

“It was sad to leave because I felt like I had a lot of friends and I knew the gym really well. So I was thinking about still using them and maybe flying there for camp. But once I joined Sanford, and realized the level of everybody there and how much more I had to grow. It’s just been awesome.”

Giagos wishes he made the move to Sanford MMA sooner.

“I wish I did it earlier. To be honest, I think I would have been doing a lot better. You know what I mean? I think it’s very important going with high-level guys because you can’t be the best in the gym. You need guys to show you where your holes are. And I definitely got exposed, and I cleaned those up, and I’m ready to showcase that,” Giagos said.

“The Spartan” gets to showcase his new skills against former top 15 lightweight Thiago Moises at UFC Vegas 57. Giagos has big goals for Saturday. “It’s either gonna be me getting a performance bonus, or I’m going for the Fight of the Night.”
