Despite the fight falling off UFC 275 due to an injury suffered by Robert Whittaker, “The Reaper” may wind up facing Marvin Vettori after all.

Both fighters announced on social media Wednesday that they were set to face off at UFC Paris on September 3, 2022. An additional report by MMA Fighting noted that a formal offer had yet to be sent by the UFC, though bout fighters have agreed to the date.

“Let’s do it, I’ve been waiting for too long now,” Vettori wrote in his response to the news on Wednesday, after warning Whittaker that he had better show up this time.

Former middleweight champ Whittaker (23-6) last competed at UFC 271 in February, where he came up short against Israel Adesanya in an attempt to win his old title back. The loss in the rematch with “The Last Stylebender” snapped a three-fight win streak the 31-year old had put together since losing the belt in 2019.

Vettori (18-5-1) has also lost to Adesanya twice, but got back in the win column in his last outing, defeating a blown up Paulo Costa in a light heavyweight bout after Costa came into Fight Week heavy. Vettori won a unanimous decision in the October contest.

The UFC’s Paris debut is expected to take place on September 3, 2022 at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.
