With the Rafael dos Anjos vs. Rafael Fiziev fight being rescheduled, the UFC Vegas 48 card had to bump up its co-feature. Luckily, Johnny Walker vs. Jamahal Hill was a serviceable enough fight to top a Fight Night card. The two extra rounds added some intrigue (not that they were needed in the end), and the replacement fight transitioned easily, given the need for fresh contenders in the light heavyweight division.

Johnny Walker no doubt wanted to be the one to stop the powerful momentum that Jamahal Hill had behind him. With a win, Walker could be back on a rise in the division.

Jamahal Hill is very tactical and precise every time he steps inside the Octagon. After his loss against Paul Craig, a fight that dislocated Hill’s elbow,  the world was introduced to a man with no quit in him as Hill did not tap. That “no quit” mentality is a very dangerous mindset within the UFC.

Hill never really had to worry come the UFC Vegas 48 main event, which was over early care of a violent knockout in the first round. Johnny Walker was out on his feet after Jamahal Hill landed a vicious right hand. If there were any doubts about Hill being a contender, he silenced all the naysayers with one big punch.
