The main event of UFC Vegas 33 pits two streaking middleweights against each other. Both Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland come into the fight with four straight victories. Hall’s win streak includes former champions Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva, while Strickland knocked out up-and-comer Brendan Allen as part of his run. Cageside Press was split at four picks apiece for the main event.

The co-main event features Kyung Ho Kang attempting to best tricky Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu artist Rani Yahya. Kang is riding a solid three fight win streak into the event and has won six of his last seven fights. Yahya is 1-1-1 in his last three, notching a submission victory last time out. All but two writers picked Yahya.

Cheyanne Buys and Gloria de Paula square off on the main card. Both fighters will be looking for their first UFC wins after losses in their respective debuts. Buys’ debut was a loss against Montserrat Ruiz after her Contender Series and de Paula fell to former Invicta Champion Jinh Yu Frey. Buys was unanimously picked.

Jared Gooden vs. Niklas Stolze is another main card fight in which both men are looking for their first wins with the promotion. Gooden has had a tough draw after a good run on the regional circuit, falling to Alan Jouban and Abubakar Nurmagomedov in his two Octagon appearances. Stolze had his debut spoiled by up-and-comer Ramazan Emeev. All but two writers picked Gooden.

Opening up the UFC Vegas 33 main card will be brawler Bryan Barberena against Jason Witt. Barberena is 2-2 in his last four with one Fight of the Night and is coming off a win over Anthony Ivy. Witt is 1-2 in the Octagon with a submission victory. All but one writer picked Barberena.
