Matt Schnell has a pretty large frame for a flyweight, standing at 5’8″ and equipped with a 72.5″ reach. Schnell made his octagon debut after an unsuccessful stint of TUF season 24 that saw him go 1-1 on the show at flyweight.

Schnell would immediately try his hand at 135lbs. in his promotional debut but lost to Rob Font.

Matt Schnel had a bout that was cancelled in September of 2020 when he botched his weight cut ahead of his flyweight bout against Tyson Nam. Now 31 years old, Schnell will be taking on Rogerio Bontorin on the main card of UFC 262 in the bantamweight division.
