The UFC 261 official weigh-in took place Friday morning, and with three title fights topping the card, there was plenty on focus on who would, and wouldn’t, make weight.
Luckily, in a seemingly rare feet during the pandemic, every single fighter was on point, with the entire weigh-in process for the PPV event taking under an hour.
In the main event, Kamaru Usman gets his rematch with Jorge Masvidal, after the pair first fought last July on Fight Island. In a rather rare occurrence, welterweight champ Usman, despite winning the first bout, actually pursued the second. Masvidal has not fought since that first meeting, while Usman will enter the fight having defended his belt once again, against Gilbert Burns.
The other two title fights on the card featured Weili Zhang taking on former champ Rose Namajunas at strawweight, and Jessica Andrade trying for her second UFC title, this time at flyweight. She was up against dominant 125lb champ Valentina Shevchenko.
