The bantamweight bout between Merab Dvalishvili (12-4) and Cody Stamann (19-3-1), first booked for last year, is back on.
MMA Junkie was first to report on Wednesday that the UFC had re-booked the fight, which fell through on two previous occasions.
The duo were first linked to a fight in December, only for Stamann to pull out due to undisclosed reasons. The fight was then moved to February 6, only for Dvalishvili to pull out while suffering the aftereffects of COVID-19.
Hopefully, the May 1 date will remain locked in.
Dvalishvili, 30-years old, in on a tear at 135lbs, with five straight victories over increasingly difficult competition. Most recently, he defeated John Dodson via unanimous decision last August.
31-year old Stamann, meanwhile, has not competed since last July, when he lost a unanimous decision to Jimmie Rivera at UFC Fight Island 1.
