Jared “Flash” Gordon (16-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC)

Featherweight (145lbs): 2-0 (UFC), Missed weight 1 time

Lightweight (155lbs): 2-3 (UFC)

Jared was the newly crowned Cage Fury FC Featherweight Champion when he joined the UFC in 2017. It was Jared’s second time winning the CFFC Featherweight belt but he had missed weight at 145lbs before. So it wasn’t too much of a surprise when he missed weight for his UFC debut not long after recovering from food poisoning, though Gordn scored a TKO victory.

In his next fight Gordon decided to test the shark infested waters of 155lbs at 5’9″ with a 68″ reach. Gordon started off okay with a win over Hacran Dias, but was flattened in just a round by Diego Ferreira in his next fight. And in the following fight, Gordon was finished again, this time in the third and final round by Joaquim Silva. After another unanimous decision win Gordon fought against future lightweight title contender Charles Olivera, and was KO’d in under 90 seconds. Gordon frankly was forced to abandon the lightweight division as there are just too many unfavorable match-ups for his size.

Thankfully, ‘Flash’ made weight in his first fight back at featherweight last July, and won a unanimous decision against Chris Fishgold. Jared will be fighting again at featherweight for UFC Vegas 19.
