Any event in which a major MMA promotion puts together multiple heavyweight fights is a rarity. It’s even more so when that promotion is ONE Championship, whose heavyweight division has never been the deepest. But on Friday’s Unbreakable II (previously taped), two such fights were on the card, in a “release the Kraken!” sort of affair.
No, nothing involving Juan Adams. But in the main event, Mauro Cerilli of Italy looked to bounce back from a loss to Arjan Singh Bhullar when he took on Abdulbasir Vagabov. With Bhullar likely next for champ Brandon Vera, getting back in the win column was key for the former title challenger Cerilli.
And while that pair closed out the card, another pair of big men opened it. ONE regular Alain Ngalani was back, taking on a top prospect in Oumar Kane, who had previously competed in the upstart ARES promotion.
Full results from Friday’s six-fight card can be found below. A stream of the action, where available, will kick off at 7:30AM ET.
