Heavyweight action is headed to ONE 167, as Canadian prospect Ben Tynan is set to return against Italy’s Mauro Cerilli as part of the June event.
Promotion officials announced the match-up on Monday, following an initial report by MMA Junkie. ONE 167 is set to take place on June 7, 2024 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Tynan (6-0) is undefeated as both a pro and amateur, kicking off his MMA career with an 8-0 ammy run. He turned pro in 2022, competing on the regional circuit with three straight wins under the LFA banner prior to signing with ONE Championship, where he’s 2-0 to date.
Impressively, all six of Tynan’s pro fights and all eight of his ammy bouts finished inside the distance, giving him a 100% finish rate. Seven of his eight amateur bouts ended in the first round. Most recently, “Vanilla Thunder” stopped Duke Didier with ground n’ pound.
Italian Cerilli (15-5) is a former Cage Warriors champion who entered ONE to an immediate title shot against then-champ Brandon Vera in 2018. With notable wins over Karl Moore and Alain Ngalani, Cerilli has been trading wins and losses ever since his ONE Championship debut.
ONE 167 is headlined by a women’s atomweight title fight between champ Stamp Fairtex and challenger Denice Zamboanga. The following pairings have been announced for the card:
