The co-main event of Sunday’s ONE 170 in Bangkok, Thailand saw Fabricio Andrade put his ONE Championship bantamweight title on the line in a rematch against South Korean challenger Kwon Won Il.

Friday’s title fight started off hot, the pair trading at an intense pace, Andrade frequently mixing in kicks and punches to the body with his combinations. The challenger also ripped a kick to the body, but it was Andrade’s attacks that were having more of an impact. That body work paid off less than a minute into the fight, with Andrade drilling the liver with a left hand that absolutely crumpled Kwon Won Il, leaving him seized up on the ground as the champ scaled the cage wall to celebrate. Il was still unable to return to his feet as Fabrico Andrade’s coach hoisted him up on his shoulders for a victory lap around the ONE circle.

Ref Herb Dean’s pre-fight instructions took nearly as long as the fight; the finish was shockingly similar to Fabricio Andrade’s first win over the South Korean, which came courtesy of a first round KO via a kick to the body. At ONE 170 however, Brazil’s Andrade, just hitting his prime at 27-years old, got the job done 20 seconds faster.

Following the win, Andrade suggested his opponent’s game plan was less than sound. “I didn’t expect him to come forward that fast. I don’t think that was a good idea.”

Official Result: Fabricio Andrade def. Kwon Won Il by TKO (body shot), Round 1, 0:42
