ONE Championship finally has a date for “Mighty Mouse” to go after flyweight gold.

Former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will face Adriano Moraes on February 24, 2021. ONE Founder and CEO Chatri Sityodtong announced the news on social media Friday. The bout is expected to take place in Singapore, per Sityodtong. While no venue was listed, it’s likely to take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang.

Johnson (30-3-1) has long been considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, especially among the lower weight classes. He was the inaugural UFC flyweight champion and defended his title eleven times before losing the belt in a split decision against Henry Cejudo.

“Mighty Mouse” then found himself “traded” to ONE Championship in exchange for former ONE welterweight champ Ben Askren. Since arriving in the Asian promotion, Johnson has won all three of his bouts, winning the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix in the process.

Originally, Johnson was expected to face ONE flyweight champ Moraes for the title at ONE: Infinity 1 back in April. However, the onset of the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the event.

Moraes (18-3) last competed in January 2019 when he reclaimed the flyweight title from Geje Eustaquio. The Brazilian is a former Shooto champ, and multiple time flyweight champion in ONE Championship.

No other bouts have been announced for ONE’s February 24, 2021 show.
