It was a particularly tough night for some of the UFC Vegas 10 main card fighters. Not that it is ever easy to walk away without achieving your goals, but more than one fighter on the wrong side of things had a pretty solid argument for being the victor. Nevertheless, we’re now tasked with taking a look at what they do after such a bout.

Angela Hill

In back-to-back fights, Hill has done enough in a lot of people’s eyes to beat the #6 and #8 strawweights in the world. However, instead of knocking on the door of a title shot, she finds herself on an unfortunate losing streak. From the matchmaker standpoint, there’s really no reason to shift the level of her opponent significantly, even if she were to slide down the rankings. Marina Rodriguez is coming off of her first loss and is chilling on the edge of the top 10. Not only does it make sense for their place in the division, but the striking in that fight would be can’t miss.

Khama Worthy

Khama Worthy has that style that you can’t help but love to watch. He’s powerful and just the right amount of reckless to make the fight exciting no matter what. With that, though, comes the possibility that he takes losses like this weekend against Ottman Azaitar. I say that shouldn’t stop the UFC brass from booking him in fights just like this one — ones where he can get a little wild and his opponent will oblige him. You know who loves a good slobber-knocker? Lando Vannata. Coming off of a loss himself, it would give both men a chance to rebound and likely would net 50k in some capacity.

Andrea Lee

This loss makes it three straight for Lee, albeit this was the first one of those that was truly a clear cut decision. The top of the flyweight division has been tough for Lee lately and it’s likely time to take a step back in competition to get back on the right foot. Gillian Robertson has been handling her business lately, but is really only getting shots on those outside the rankings. A bout between the two would give Lee a chance to show she still deserve to get those shots at fighters in the top of the division, and it would give Robertson a chance to take the step up she’s looking for. Pending the outcome of Robertson’s fight against Poliana Botelho next month.

Mike Rodriguez

By all accounts, except for the official record, Mike Rodriguez won this past weekend. After landing his KO blow in the second round, he would up being falsely accused of an errant shot and then losing in the third. You never really can count on the commissions to right the wrong, but that doesn’t mean the UFC can’t treat it as if Rodriguez won anyways (they did pay him his win bonus after all). That win would have made it two straight for Rodriguez, so let’s pair him with another rangy 205er on a two-fight UFC win streak. Jamahal Hill will return from his ridiculous suspension in November, and that’d be a great timeline and fun striking matchup for Rodriguez.
