Two of the best heavyweights in UFC history walked into UFC 252 with the goal of cementing their legacy with a victory that would decide a trilogy and determine who would go down in the history books as “the greatest.” Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier had left the competition in their dust, and met on the top of the heavyweight division mountain one last time.

It’s these types of trilogy fights that excite MMA fans, playing right into the debate over who the greatest heavyweight of all time is. Rarely is there a definitive answer, but perhaps we finally got the verdict confirmed after five rounds on Saturday.  Stipe Miocic is the undisputed heavyweight king and UFC 252 ended all the debate. Until the next great comes along, anyway.

For all five rounds, fight fans were on the edge of their seats. No doubt the pros were as well. What a fight to end the trilogy!! All the way to the judges’ score cards, this was an entertaining fight, both men connecting with significant strikes. It seemed to be the clinch that was the difference maker for Stipe Miocic however. Still, no matter who was victorious, both men gave their all for that heavyweight title.
