Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade is set to make her flyweight debut against former title challenger Jessica Eye on October 17.

Former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade is scheduled to make her flyweight debut  on October 17 against former title challenger Jessica Eye.  The bout was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.  No location for the bout has been announced at this time.

Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade is looking to get back in the win-column after coming up short in her rematch against Rose Namajunas earlier this month on Fight Island.  A veteran of the UFC since 2013, Andrade holds the record for the most victories by a woman in the UFC and has competed at both bantamweight and strawweight (where she won the title in 2019) since then.  A top contender at strawweight before the opening of the flyweight division in 2017, Andrade has never fought at 125 pounds before.

Jessica “Evil” Eye is looking to get back in the win-column herself after most recently dropping a bout to Cynthia Calvillo in June.  A stalwart of the UFC since 2013 like Andrade, Eye memorably bounced back from a four fight skid and two-year absence to go on a win-streak that earned her a UFC title shot against Valentina Shevchenko.  Both of her fights since fighting for the title have been marred by controversy as Eye missed weight for both.

No main event or other bouts for the card have been announced at this time.  It is assumed that the promotion is monitoring the situation amidst the coronavirus pandemic before settling on either the UFC Apex in Vegas or the Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi.
