Roxanne Modafferi is a pioneer in professional women’s mixed martial arts.
Roxanne Modafferi competed twice at bantamweight on The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 back in 2013. Modafferi one a fight then lost her next exhibition bout and after the show fought for Invicta FC before getting another chance at the UFC, this at flyweight and on The Ultimate Fighter Season 26. Modafferi again couldn’t manage to win the show, but this time went 2-1 in exhibition bouts. And in a stroke of luck for Modafferi, one half of the scheduled TUF finale fight had a medical emergency due to weight cutting. Modafferi stepped in in order to take on Nicco Montano for the inaugural UFC Women’s Flyweight belt but lost a unanimous decision.
Since the TUF finale, Roxanne has faired okay during her UFC run amazing her record of 3-3. The Happy Warrior’s weight class best weight class is undoubtedly 125lbs and that’s where she will be competing on June 20th.
