Maki “Coconut Bombz” Pitolo (12-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC)

Welterweight (170lbs): 0-1 (UFC), had a fight canceled due to bad weight cut.

Middleweight (185lbs): 1-0 (DWTNCS)

Maki Pitolo is a tweener that has had to find his sweet spot between the welterweight and middleweight weight classes his entire career. Pitolo is also a Bellator 213 veteran that was forced to fight at a catchweight between the welterweight and lightweight divisions. Maki missed weight for welterweight outside of the UFC back in 2017.

Maki Pitolo is now 29 years old and at 5’10” with a 73.5″ reach as well as a muscular build it has become a lot harder for the Hawaiian to make weight. Maki was originally scheduled for a bout against Takashi Sato earlier this year in February at  UFC Auckland. Unfortunately, he would not make it to the bout, falling ill from a weight cut and forcing the bout to be canceled. This would have been Maki’s second fight in the UFC.  For UFC 250 Maki is wisely choosing to eliminate his excessive weight cut and moving up to the middleweight weight class in order to take on Charles Byrd.
