10 Bantamweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2020

Khusein “Lion” Askhabov

24 | 5’9″ | Grozny, Russia | 20-0 | 13 Finishes | 4 KO/TKOs, 9 Submissions (Heel Hook, Guillotine, RNC, Armbar) | Combined Opponents’ Record: 87-43 | Best Win – Donovan Desmae (9-1)

Earlier last year it was known that Khusein Askhabov was in talks with the UFC. Although it didn’t pan out, it still seems they are close to making a deal. The Luxembourg-born fighter is a former Russian Combat Sambo champion. He also was a universal karate champion and won the NAGA Featherweight tournament in 2014 out of Monaco. With all that he has a very solid MMA record of 20-0.

The 24-year-old star is also a top product out of Tiger Muay Thai/Team Alpha Male. His stand up is good, he is quick and explosive and displays good kickboxing by throwing a lot of different kicks and staying active. It’s his ground game where Askhabov is best, using good wrestling and getting dominant positions easily. His submission awareness is very astute as he can go for submissions at a drop of a dime. He is quick but he has some work to do to mix all his skills to improve.
